Clear-Tank Disposables: CLR 50K vs VIZ 55K for Shops

Clear-tank disposables are the first real change to the category’s hardware in a while. The Geek Bar CLR 50K and the Lost Mary VIZ 55K both put the e-liquid where the customer can see it, and both are built as single-use devices with no charging dock and no reusable battery. For a shop, the interesting question is not which one wins a spec sheet. It is whether a visible tank sells, and what it costs you in shelf space and reorder rhythm.

What the clear tank actually changes

Most disposables hold their e-liquid in cotton polyfill inside an opaque shell. You cannot see the fill level, so the device relies on a screen estimate or on the customer guessing. Both of these devices replace that with a transparent reservoir, which means the hardware around the liquid had to be redesigned, not just re-cased.

The practical effect at the counter is simple. A customer can look at the tank and know whether they are near empty. That removes one of the most common complaints about high-puff disposables: the harsh, dry-ish final stretch when the coil is old and the fill is low. It also gives your staff something to point at when a shopper asks why this device costs more than the tube next to it.

Neither unit has buttons or flavor modes. Both run a regular mode and a boosted mode, and both charge over USB-C. The differences are in the details.

The two devices, side by side

The Geek Bar CLR 50K carries 17mL of liquid at 50mg strength, a 900mAh battery, a dual mesh coil, and a 3D waterfall glow display. It is rated at 50,000 puffs in regular mode and 25,000 in Pulse mode, and comes in 25 flavors.

The Lost Mary VIZ 55K carries 16.7mL at the same 50mg strength, an 850mAh battery, and a triple coil system, with a 360° visible LED display. It is rated at 55,000 puffs regular and 30,000 in Boost mode, across 20 flavors.

Read that carefully. Geek Bar gives you slightly more liquid and a slightly larger battery. Lost Mary advertises more puffs in both modes. Those two facts pull in opposite directions, which tells you the puff numbers are not a like-for-like measure of anything. Treat them as marketing bands, not runtime guarantees. What you can rely on is the fill volume, the battery capacity and the coil count, because those are physical.

The VIZ 55K puts its electronics in a center column and base, which reads as more solid in the hand. The CLR 50K feels closer to a Pulse body with a clear reservoir fitted in place of the polyfill. Both are well executed. Which one a customer prefers is largely a look-and-feel call, and that is fine — it gives you a reason to stock both rather than pick a winner.

Where these sit on a disposable shelf

Our disposable range runs from under 10,000 puffs up to 150,000 and beyond, and the 50,000–80,000 band is the deepest part of it. That matters here. These two devices are not opening a new tier; they are competing inside the busiest one, against established high-puff units from the same two brands and from everyone else.

So do not treat a clear tank as a replacement for your existing 50K facings. Treat it as a premium variant within the band. The customer who buys it is usually the one who already spends on high-puff devices and is tired of guessing when the tank is done. That is a narrower group than your overall disposable buyer, and it usually supports a smaller facing count at a higher ticket.

Two practical notes for ordering. First, flavor count is a real constraint: 25 SKUs on one side and 20 on the other is more than most shops should carry in a single new line. Start with the flavors that already move in that brand’s other devices and let sell-through pick the rest. Second, clear-tank hardware is newer than polyfill hardware, so watch your first reorder closely. If a flavor stalls, you want to know before the second case, not after.

If you are rebuilding the disposable section rather than adding to it, our guide on building a disposable order walks through balancing puff bands and flavor depth. The wider wholesale disposable vapes range shows where these two land against the rest of the catalogue.

Buying notes before you commit

  • Confirm the mode story. Boost and Pulse modes cut rated puff counts roughly in half. Customers who run boosted mode will finish these faster than the headline number suggests, so set expectations at the counter.
  • Check charging guidance. The CLR 50K is specified for 5V/1A charging and the VIZ 55K for 1.3A. Passing that on reduces returns from customers using whatever brick is on the counter.
  • Keep the accessories line in view. Clear-tank disposables are still single-use, so they do not replace pod systems or coils for your regulars. Our pod systems and kits and coils and pods ranges cover the customers who want to refill rather than replace.
  • Verify the account side first. These are age-restricted, licensed-channel products. If you are new to us, start with licensing requirements and the wholesale account application before pricing anything.

The call

If you can only take one, take the Lost Mary VIZ 55K. Higher advertised puff counts in both modes, a triple coil, and a build that feels more substantial in the hand give your staff the easier story to tell. If your customers already buy Geek Bar heavily, the CLR 50K is the safer add because it sits inside a brand they trust, and the extra liquid and battery are genuine, if small, advantages.

Either way, order narrow. Pick a handful of proven flavors, give the line a defined spot in the 50K band, and let the first sell-through tell you whether a clear tank earns more facings. Pricing, case quantities and freight for either device come from your current written quote for the exact product and quantity — confirm those before you build the purchase order.
